Sylvie Gerozisis is a Tasmanian artist who lives in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel region of southern Tasmania. She has studied Fine Arts at Sydney university and Botanical Illustration at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney. She has been a teacher of Visual Arts as well as Design and Technology, and her work has been published in magazines and on book covers.
Sylvie works almost exclusively in watercolour, and although primarily a Botanical Artist, nowadays her interests extend further to include Wild Life subjects, as well as the Tasmanian landscape. Sylvie is drawn to revealing the beauty of Nature in her artwork, which often incorporates distinctive elements of pattern and design, that relate strongly to the particular subject.
Over the years Sylvie's work has been exhibited at: the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney; the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne; the Salamanca Collection Gallery in Hobart (now the Colville Gallery); the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery in Launceston; the Burnie Regional Art Gallery in Northern Tasmania; the the biennial exhibitions held by the Australian Plant Society in Hobart, and the Bruny Island Bird Festival Exhibition. Her artwork is held in private collections throughout Australia.
The artwork is printed on Museo Portfolio Rag, 300gsm 100% cotton paper, which has a high archival rating of more than 100 years stability. All prints have been personally checked and hand signed by the artist.
