3 day Corybus Orchid Tour with Eco Tours Tasmania, 20-22 July 2018
Come Corybas hunting with Eco Tours Tasmania on a fully guided and catered three day tour from Hobart to Tasmania's Native Orchid hot spot, the Arthur Pieman Conservation Area. The Arthur Pieman Conservation Area differs from typical Tasmanian West Coast habitat as it has been shaped by fire, resulting in a unique landscape that contains many threatened flora species including 7 endemic orchids and the typical location for 6 of these. This tour will be specifically targeting Corybas and is timed to coincide with the peak flowering of the recently discovered Pink and Green varieties of Corybas unguiculatus (small pelican-orchid)
Corybas aconitiflorus (spurred helmet orchid) and Corybas incurvus (slaty helmet-orchid) will also be in flower during this Tour.
The Tour will depart Hobart at 8.00am Friday 20th July 2018 and stop at known orchid sites on the way to and from Arthur River, returning to Hobart late Sunday 22nd July 2018. Transfers to and from Launceston, Devonport and Burnie or other locations along our route to Arthur River can be arranged.
Facilities at Arthur River are restricted to a small take away food shop. There are no hotels, motels or supermarkets in the area. Our accommodation at Arthur River will be a large, comfortable and fully equipped Lodge with a variety of bedrooms that sleeps up to 12 people in a mix of twin shared and double rooms.
As there are no supermarkets, hotels or restaurants at Arthur River, all meals at Arthur River from dinner Friday evening through to breakfast on Sunday will be provided and catered at The Lodge.
Please note the type of room you require during the booking process. Double OR male/female twin-share
Total Cost for the 3 day Tour will be $600 per person.
